Partnership law — contractual solutions for every life model

was wir tun

The Swiss Civil Code dates from 1907. Even almost 120 years later, “wild marriage” and concubinage as such are still not regulated by law, although life-long cohabitation without a marriage certificate is widespread. The so-called “patchwork family” is also a social reality.

Nonetheless, unmarried couples or couples with uncommon children are in many ways disadvantaged by law compared to “classic” married couples. For this reason, there is a strong desire from many partners to contractually regulate their partnership. Our motto is: “Hope for the best, expect the worst.” Regardless of whether your partnership is dissolved one day by death or by divorce/separation: With a contract tailored to you personally, you protect each other as a partner; at the same time, you are mutually protected from unpleasant surprises. Very often, a partnership agreement is linked to a final decision. Therefore, please also note the corresponding chapter.

PS. Equality and tolerance in a society are achieved when there is no need to talk about equality and tolerance anymore! For this reason, we consistently speak of “partnership” in this section. Regardless of whether you are a straight or homosexual couple, in cohabitation, married or in a registered partnership: Your wish for the best possible protection of your life relationship is our task!
